Not saying whether I am or am not one such person, but there are plenty of (definitely intelligent) people on this website who think you are the Troll of the Century (behind Pyro, who will likely hold the crown for all time). So...which of them do you believe are idiots, if not all, as your statement seems to imply?

I'd like the first WW game I run to be full. I plan to try and make it something special.

@Jaz: I'll have to look up the practice test and see which ones those are. Too busy ATM for more than a cursory glance. Regardless, if you figured out what you did wrong, then you're Golden. I think the test is mostly just designed to weed out undesirables, of which you certainly are not one @PD: I really wanna play in your WW game, so here's hopin' I get a chance despite having signed up for this round of Mafia. @Kung_Fuscious: I do believe that is the first time I have EVER read/heard/experienced a European person give America the advantage in any category, period. I've been struck quite speechless. Glad you enjoyed the States though Next time, come to Ohio and I'll give you the grand tour of the countryside. The best America has to offer to a European: Guns, Horses, Beer, Redneck Women and more! Woo hoo! (P.S., by beer, I do NOT mean Budweiser)

Seems pretty simple to me. You used a poor choice of words. "Because you're a scrub" sounds like a direct accusation even though it's previously established that "you" is used in the hypothetical. You should have used "if" instead of "because"; one You phrased your answer exactly like an accusation. Or maybe people are complete and utter idiots.

I used a similar form of speech as he did; "Why would you X?" "Because you Y." I assume since he's using "you" to refer to any misc person, he will know well enough that the use of "you" in the same fashion in the reply also refers to any misc person. Had he said "Why would anybody do this?" I might have responded, less lazily, "Because that person..." I suppose I assume too much, that any given random person is capable of reading language in the same way he or she uses it. Edit to answer Gawain's question: I'm fairly certain the people who i think are idiots, know I think they're idiots. Ironically, the people who think I'm a troll, I think are trolls themselves. Whatever. I've been in the community for over 5 years now, I have enough people I would consider friends that I can mostly ignore the people I consider idiots when they're acting as such. Which is, in my new year at MOTL, what I'm going to do more of. If someone's trying to troll me, I'll just ignore it. Maybe if I stop flaming in retaliation to trolling, people will stop seeing me as such a troll? It seems like good logic.

Jaz. I took the test a couple weeks ago and got 28/28. It's a breeze as long as you pay attention to the details.

There's a bunch of mac conspiracy/propoganda out there. I always laugh when people say 'Get a mac, they can't get viruses' - because it's so obvious they have no idea how viruses work. And I laugh again when they buy a game and it isn't mac compatible. Get an OS based on what YOU like/need, not what someone else says. (for the record, macs can get viruses. most virus writers just don't bother making them, because mac has traditionally been a very small portion of the world market compared to windows.) __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. The other person's word choice doesn't matter, which is something I think a lot of people miss when they chat on the internet, myself included. There is always a way to make your point in a respectful manner. If the person you're making the point to doesn't want to hear it, there's nothing else you can do. Saying something like "Hey, bright boy, <make point>" isn't going to make someone listen to you. On the other hand, some people just don't get it, and maybe won't ever get it, and continually say things that fly in the face of logic. These are the people it's ok to flame. quasargaming much? quote: Originally posted by Jazaray: And WHY didn't you visit me? Hmmmm??? Thanks, Jazaray

A little something I like to call purchase justification is at work here. BTW, Rhode Island is pretty decent.

We just learned about purchase justification in advertising class. Preventing cognitive dissonance, etc. Fixed your other remark

I have the whole trio - Mac, PC, and Linux. I like them all for different things. If you're buying a laptop, I would definitely go Mac. The physical design alone, never mind OS X, is superb. For a desktop, I'd choose PC for gaming, app support, and customizability. Mac is probably not needed unless you are a media enthusiast. Linux is used for my media center and servers. Re: Mac's can get viruses: Yes, they can, but they won't. While you can sit around and laugh at the difference if you're a tech junkie, the reality is it doesn't matter for the average user, so you might as well say "Macs can't get viruses."

Meh. Rocky Point Chowder House closed down. My father lives in the same town as Jazaray (and so does my sister's father), and I contend that because of my last sentence, I have no reason to ever return. __________________ *MafiaBass*Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Prices*Gatherer*Logout*No More Rickrolls! “Reason is not automatic. Anyplace where I can get lobsters for real cheap is pretty cool. Even if I gotta put up with a bunch of grumpy Sawks fans in the meantime . One of the funniest was this lady who actually scolded me for having my yanks t-shirt on as I was walking into a restaurant. People there are pretty amusing.
Where is that in reference to North Kingstown. Where my aunt and uncle are living actually, so we've been down there quite a few times. __________________ MMObaseball CentSportsPlay em, they're fun and free!

Waitaminute... that's ten people we know of all claiming to live in NK. Are we sure it's big enough for ten people? __________________ *MafiaBass*Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Prices*Gatherer*Logout*No More Rickrolls! “Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it." -Ayn Rand

haha - sounds good to me re the snow: US response = massive snow plows and people with mechanical snow blower machines clearing a path as it falls. Result - clear highways and we had no problem driving from DC to NYC UK response - wring hands and wonder what to do as snow falls, end up doing nothing until a thick layer of ice covers everything, then get one elderly man with a bucket of grit (salt) to sprinkle it lightly over odd bits of road in case we run out. Even the names you gave to the weather were better than ours. US: 'Winter Storm: Round 2' 'Snowmageddon' 'Snowpocalypse' 'February Fury' (my personal favourite) UK: 'Frozen Britain'
Jazaray: I would have visited but unfortunately I had to help look after 25 students who were with us. One day I will visit the US without this handicap and do some proper sightseeing! :]
