That would be so awesome. Especially if they're both undefeated. Since the game is in Miami they could just get a suite for the '72 Dolphins and their Champagne and just keep a camera on them all game long as they look longingly at the bottles that they'll never open. Mercury Morris can cry on the shoulders of Don Shula as the clock winds down.

Yeah, but at this point its a little too pretentious. For about a hundred reasons not the least of which is that it was a 14 game season, they played TWO teams that were better than .500 and I'd put among others the '85 Bears and '84 49ers as better teams. Its not like you see the old '96 Bulls on TV every time the last NBA team get's its 10th or 11th loss. We get it, you were good once. Now let us bring you into the conversation instead of forcing yourself onto us every season.

Fair enough. I agree they take it a little too far, but coming from a football background, if the team weren't my alma mater, I wouldn't want them to do it again so to speak.

So it's Miami's fault that the schedule was only 14 games back then, and that the league was weak that season? They won all their games, and that's all that matters. And if you want to discredit great teams, you also have to discredit the '85 Bears and '84 49ers because they beat AFC teams in a 13 year run in which the AFC couldn't produce a good enough team to compete in the SB. BTW, the 12-0 Nebraska teams that won National Championships are right there with which ever unbeaten team wins this year's National Championship to go 14-0. No team can be discredited simply because the schedule was shorter when they played. quote: Its not like you see the old '96 Bulls on TV every time the last NBA team get's its 10th or 11th loss.
10th loss? Why would the '96 Bulls celebrate a team losing their 10th game, equalling their loss total from '96? And as JCMD already said, best record =/= undefeated. quote: We get it, you were good once. Now let us bring you into the conversation instead of forcing yourself onto us every season.
Until someone else goes undefeated, the '72 Dolphins have every right to be as abnoxious as they want to be, and to pop the cork on a bottle of champagne after the last unbeaten loses their first game. When someone goes 19-0, the '72 Dolphins will shut up and go away. Until then, pop that cork.

Now onto something significantly more relevant and less annoying...What was up with the Cardinals last night? 7 turnovers. Bad throws by Warner. Bad play by rookies. Giving up with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Was a horrible, horrible game.

Well, you see, that's just bad football. You make that many turnovers, your offence won't score any points. You can't win if you don't score any points. [/Madden]

+1...Bengals played awful as well. I knew they were going to get into a few games where they couldn't ride the defense and run game...and Carson would have to throw and play bad. I told my dad they should have let Carson throw against thhe Browns and Lions to get him some work because in the playoffs he's gonna have to step up and he just hasn't been throwing as much as previous years and needs the work incase they get in said situation. Bah, hate bad Offensive Coordinating. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [185] in OH-IO (Catching up to xion_black) 2nd in Posts [5010] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val) Mafia/Werewolf Record: 2-1 as Mafia 6-4 as Cit

read the story. It looks like his fiance tried to drive away and he jumped in after her. Domestic disputes are sad, death as a result is double-sad.

Cleveland gives up 148 rushing yards per game and the bears give up 129. Tough call. I'd start both honestly.

well yeah. Both Charles and Rice are at home against bottom 10 run defenses. I'd start Charles b/c they don't have anyone else, while McClain could steal carries at the goal line.

Ok, that's what I was leaning towards. I figured the Ravens have multiple vultures/carry stealers.

No, on the televised broadcast, the Packers won 182-2.5, Britney Spears announced she was running for president, and a UFO destroyed the stadium after the game. Too bad you only had radio, it was quite a show. __________________ Stages of Death: Anger, Denial, Barganing, Depression, Acceptance, Burial, Decay, Haunting, Revenge, Evil LaughOriginally posted by pyr0ma5ta: When in doubt, always go with the mom joke.
