Since it's a little early to make picks, I'll just start out with I'm hoping the Habs stop underachieving after the dismissal of Carboneau. I'll make some predictions, though Ovechkin will post his second 60 goal season en route to his third straight MVP. Art Ross will belong to Datsyuk who pumps out a monster year, though. Sharks post another 100 point season and are lifted the first round of the playoffs again. Bruins finish with 13 points(All OT). Bunch of losers.

I hope the canucks lose early so I don't have to fight through grouchy crowds when they lose in the playoffs.

Made it to a computer, saw this and my .02 is that the Atlantic division will be a house again this season.Saw the Sens/SJS trade w/ Heatley, should make things interesting for that division. I don't see the Bruins having as strong a year. The Caps dominate the south w/ Carolina doing fair or better than. Not up to date on the west enough to say much, but Chicago will be strong. Lets go Pens!!! Jesse __________________ "call the hospital now" "I'm gonna kill you" inspiring words from Mino Fazio

Predictions: Eastern Conference
1.Washington * 2.Pittsburgh * 3.Montreal * 4.New Jersey 5.Boston 6.Carolina 7.Philadelphia 8.New York Washington will win the Presidents Trophy...not bc they are best team but bc they are aided by worst division in hockey. Atlanta and Tampa Bay are among league worst in records again, feeding Washington's record. Quarters Washington over New York Pittsburgh over Philadelphia Carolina over Montreal Boston over New Jersey Semis Carolina over Washington Pittsburgh over Boston Conference Finals Pittsburgh over Carolina Western Conference 1.Detroit * 2.Vancouver * 3.San Jose * 4.Chicago 5.Anaheim 6.Dallas 7.Calgary 8.St. Louis Chicago has a better record than San Jose and Vancouver, but still can't get ahead of the Wings. Quarterfinals Detroit over St. Louis Vancouver over Calgary Dallas over San Jose....mass suicide ensues for Sharks fans Chicago over Anaheim Semis Dallas over Detroit Chicago over Vancouver Conference Finals Chicago over Dallas Stanley Cup
Pittsburgh over Chicago Penguins make it a point to have last ever game in Civic(Mellon) Arena the only time they raise the Cup on home ice in their history.

Mike Richards runs a goalie(with less than 2 seconds) then hides in the net with his arms over his head.....yup he's a real tough guy.Scott Hartnell decides to bite someone in a scrum. A real winner you got there. Chris Pronger decides to try and pick a fight with Chris Kunitz who is half his size....way to go sir! You're a real tough guy too! Last Ray Emery played like garbage....be he is garbage. Yup, Philly looks REAL THREATENING to Pittsburgh. Now where is that fat bastard to come and defend his boy Richards for his Sea Turtle impression?

Seriously, we're all used to doing well before the playoffs and then losing in the playoffs here on the west coast. The question is just first round or second round. These stats just say it all: Overall Playoff Record: 59-66 Overall Playoff Series Record: 9-12 Stanley Cup Championships: None Pacific Division Championships: 2001-02, 2003-04, 2007-08, 2008-09 We're gonna rule the division then tank in the first or second round. That's hardly a bold prediction. I think they'll make it past the first round this year.

it seems like there will be a lot of breakout players this season. The Capitals are just like the Canucks a couple years ago. A crazy first line, and crappy everything else.alex burrow might have another breakout season as well, and so will steven stamkos.

The wings are either going to be solid again, or they are going to BLOW! I am not thrilled about my new net-minder Jimmy Howard, and thank god Hossa is gone. It will be up to the kids they have 6 newer (rookie to 2/3rd year) players. And with Franzen out till at least after the Olympic break that will be tough. I hope they do, but they may not win the Western Division.** Go Toronto with Kessel, Nice pick up. It will be nice to see the leafs starting in the right direction again.

I don't see the Redwings winning their division at this point...let alone the Western Conference. And yeah...great pickup by Toronto, glad to see them on the right track too...I guess the right track is not winning a game yet?

Wings weren't going to win the conference to begin with, so I don't see why that should be an issue. Still can win the division. __________________ AIM: Wings0298Rares: 2305

The Avs are good again this year. Now I have a reason to watch the NHL in addition to the local CHL & NCAA teams. 5 good teams, and so little time to watch them all.

You really need to stop with the Crosby bashing because it makes you seem like more and more of an idiot especially since Crosby has cups and well Philly hasn't had a cup in almost as long as the Leafs. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 9500+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 19th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Has nothing to do with how many cups he has. I wasn't comparing Philly to Pittburgh. Crosby has run from Richards for as long as the two have known one another. So no I won't stop with HATING Cry Baby Crosby. I just wish that was Crosby instead of Booth. Because Booth will come back after Richards, I'm not convinced that Crosby would have heart enough to FINALLY step up. __________________ How many times do I have to have sex with your mom before you realize we have something special.2007-08 MOTL Fantasy Hockey Champ! 2008 MOTL Fantasy Football Champ! 2008-09 MOTL Fantasy Hockey Champ! Anyone see Mike Richards run into Fleury last time the Penguins beat the Cryers and then Richards lay in the net in the fetile position with his arms over his head so he wouldnt get hurt? I know I did....defend your boy on that one fattie.

Again...bc a man who runs into a goalie with 1.4 seconds left, then hides in the net WITH HIS ARMS OVER HIS HEAD is a TOUGH GUY! Mike "Turtle" Richards.

it doesn't matter if Crosby will take on Mike Richard or not, because at the end of the day, he is a winner, and Mike Richard isn't. unless Mike Richard can win a cup, you will lose every time you bring up an arguement like this.

Your forgetting he's from Philly. The only thing that matters is random fighting. Which technically I've never seen richards win a fight, so he's a loser there as well. The only thing I've come close to seeing is Richards cowering in the Penguins net last game.
