The only dealings I've had with craigslist, have been BAD.

The first time, it put me in contact with some strange dude that was all super nice and stuff. He had a store near my parents and I would go and visit. He fixed computers and offered to fix my brothers and then promptly took off with it. (there was MUCH MUCH more in between, it wasn't just cut and dry.) His name was Paul Anthony .. crap I forgot his last name. He was a jerk.

This last time, I put in for a DS for my daughter that someone was selling. $100 for the DS and 4 games. After I got in touch, he told me that he was now selling it all separately and he'd take $65 for the DS. That was fine, we made plans to do the deal over the weekend. I emailed him to ask where to meet him and never heard back from him. I've sent him several emails and still haven't heard anything.

I know it's only two times, but.. I'm disillusioned. Shrug.

And people, lay off of Selvaxri, he's a nice guy.

Anything I've sold has usually taken 3 or 4 tries to seal the deal. That's either from people never responding again or just failing to show up at an appointed pick-up time.

Also, for every legit e-mail I get, I usually end up with 3 scammers trying to buy the item.

I'm not debating that in the least. Using it has allowed me to get rid of some stuff that would have just been landfill fodder or sat around for years. If I can get cash for it as well, that's just fine.

I've considered inquiring about some of the magic cards listed in my area, but I get the feeling people are vastly over-estimating the value of their collections. I did meet one girl with cards who was toting a Scrye/Inquest around with her. I don't think I picked up anything there.

I recommend not buying an overpriced, underpowered, and overrated computer. Why anyone would pay 20-30% more for a sleekly designed but expensive and less compatible laptop is beyond me. You're going to end up installing Windows on it anyway to run programs, so why not just buy a PC and call it a day?

I would def go the $300 up from the 1st to the 2nd, but I wouldn't for the 2nd to the 3rd.
