Well, I'm back, and I'm continuing on where I left off last time. Here is Tedman's Tales, Invasion Picks D to H.

Death or Glory
4W
Sorcery
Separate all creature cards in your graveyard into two face-up piles. Remove the pile of an opponent's choice from the game and return the other to play.

This card is extremely powerful. After all the hard work the opponent put into killing all your creature, you get half of them back!

Desperate Research
1B
Name a card other than a basic land. Then reveal the top seven cards of your library and put all of them with that name into your hand. Remove the rest from the game.

I can see this card being used, but not necessarily in mono-black. Comboed with Soothsaying, you can maximize your advantage.

Disrupt
U
Instant
Counter target instant or sorcery spell unless its controller pays 1. Draw a card.

Hey, cool, we get Disrupt back. An extremely solid counter. You know, it doesn't even need to counter to be decent, just a Whispers, and you make them pay one

Do or Die
1B
Separate all creatures target player controls into two face-up piles. Destroy all creatures in the pile of that player's choice. They can't be regenerated.

Best Black card in the set. For two mana, you destroy half of their creatures, and you can kill Pro-Black creatures and Untargetables (that means YOU, Blastoderm!)

Elfhame Palace
Land
Elfhame Palace comes into play tapped. Tap: Add G or W to your mana pool.

I just want to reiterate how I think the new Dual Lands will make Standard so much fun and so interesting. This one will find its way into Blasto-Geddon decks, which you WILL see around soon enough.

Exclude
2U
Instant
Counter target creature spell. Draw a card.

This guy will definitely see play. I mean, creatures are the back bones of pretty much any deck, right? Well this one snaps that bone, and replaces itself right away

Fact or Fiction
3U
Instant
Reveal the top five cards of your library. An opponent separates those cards into two face-up piles. Put one pile into your hand and the other into your graveyard.

Hey, here's the best Blue card in Invasion! I'm not going to go too in-depth about this card, but I will say this. The opponent doesn't know what you have in your hand, so they can't make a totally right distribution of the cards.

Ghitu Fire
XR
Sorcery
You may play Ghitu Fire any time you could play an instant if you pay 2 more to play it. Ghitu Fire deals X damage to target creature or player.

Again, another potential good card. If you accumulate enough lands, but don't draw into a creature, then this is a fairly good finisher. Better than Volcanic Geyser, that's for sure

Hanna, Ship's Navigator
1WU
Creature - Legend
1WU, Tap: Return target artifact or enchantment card from your graveyard to your hand.
1/2

She has some combo potential. With Seals that destroy themselves for an effect, she can recycle them. And she makes Disenchant/Seal of Cleansings on the other side almost completely useless.

Harrow
2G
Instant
As an additional cost to play Harrow, sacrifice a land. Search your library for up to two basic land cards and put them into play. Then shuffle your library.

This card may be a reprint, but it's a lot better with Invasion than Tempest. Basically, you fetch whatever basics you need at the time. And plus, it's good deck-thinning. And, you end up with more lands than you started out with. A good card that will see play in most multicolor decks with Green.

Well, that's enough for now, expect my next article soon. Until then, this is Tedman signing off.

nice article, but i think you overrated do or die...ok, let's assume he has 2 llanowar elves, 1 bop, and a blastoderm out, right?

well, you being smart, put the bop and 2 elves in one thing, and the blastoderm in the other

he kills his 2 bops and elf, blastoderm lives

highly overrated..
if you got to choose the pile, though, it would be great...

i would still rather have perish in the sb

but overall good article

I agree with Da-Odd-Templar that Do or Die isnt the best black card in the set.

But still, even if you don't get the blastoderm two mana and killing 2 Llanowars and a Bop is well worth it!

Do or Die is extremely powerful, it destroys half of your opponents creatures... for 2 mana!

It don't care if card is untargetable or pro-black. That's why Diabolic Edict was powerful.

we never said it wasn't powerful, we just said that's it's overrated and it's not the best black card in the set, that's all.

i would have to go with tsabo's decree...it can actually kill a blastoderm and any other beasties the opponent has 100% of the time, and rid the opponent's hand of them too. And don't get me started vs rebels

you'll see, these things will be great in this newer, slower season

Twilights Call is the best black in the set. Pain/Suffering Your self, use the mages from nemesis and use green acceleratin. Get 3 Fatties on turn 4 or 5

I agree with da-odd-templar.
Tsabo's Decree is GREAT and think I only bought one Invasion Booster and I got this. Great for my deck!!
And what did u said? Blastoderm? Rebels ? This card is kick ***ing. And think of it with a Dark Ritual. A turn 4 Armageddon for Rebels only!!! And of course bye bye Derm

I dunno da-odd...
I have to agree with ted here, that I'm pretty much obsessed with do or die.

In your example, 2 elves and a bop or a derm, for 1B? You don't think that's incredible? I mean, com'on?!

I think that killing 3 creatures for 2 mana is incredible!

Maybe Twilights Call WILL be good, but no one has found a way to really break it yet (at least not to my knowledge)... right now, I think do or die is the best.

First off: Nice article *Tedman*
Second off: Do or Die is sweet
Third off: I hadn't heard of Death or Glory until I read this article but oh my god it is AWESOME. I can just see the deck now, discard a aton of creature then play Death or Glory and get half of them into play without ever evening playing any of them. Dang that card is BrOkEn

Oh by the way, I've actually had the chance to play with do or die in tournaments now, and it's not nearly as good as it was made out to be. My new pick for best black card in the set is, without a doubt, Yawgmoth's Agenda.

oh shadowizar, i was running one in my nether-go deck as well, and let me tell you, the ability to play all your library manipulation, removal spells, counterspells, and they deadly UNDERMINE is something that everybody should fear. OMG I love this card. (Agenda).

Nice article.
Desperate Research is one of my sleeper picks for the set. Powerful and versatile, as well as cheap. I'm trying to get some in trades before people catch on.
Harrow, well, I've liked this card since Tempest, and I agree that it's much more useful in Invasion, more gold cards to work with.
As for the Do or Die, I think it will be useful in most black decks, but whether it will be the optimum card for that slot remains to be seen. I prefer Tsabo's Decree, but that higher mana cost makes it less useful. For 1B, Do or Die is efficient, if nothing else.
