Anybody know which cards are going to be up for pre release and release?Edit: Nevermind, I just found them. Vampire Nocturnus for prerelease and Ant Queen for Release. Sadface.

A well balanced deck should be able to play most of its 1-drops when finding just basics. Then beyond that, they may as well be duals.
@ you and caquaa: That's the point, though. Especially in the decks that I play where I'm using pains instead of basics, the strategy is "accel as fast as possible", which means a land that's not good on turn 1 isn't good at all. I can keep a hand of two pains, sometimes even one, because of the amount of accel i use; I can't keep a hand of two ally-lands because they'll both be worthless. IMO these new lands are kind of like Serum Powder in manaless ichorid- they're neat when the situation in which they're best comes up, but when you really need that slot to be a certain card and you see that, it's just depressing.

Agreed. These lands only help one type of deck, control, where you have the time to set up. They(Wizards) have basically cut down the mana acessability on turn 1 for aggro decks when Wizards themselves have said recently that they were trying to make the game more creature involved. If you're main goal to to make it more creature involved print lands of two colors that can actually tap for mana on turn 1....or like you even said Caquaa make them give the bonus to things like Wild Nacatl. They do neither and basically will see no play in aggro decks, thus like I said they only will help control with it's mana when infact Control is something that Wizards specifically said they wanted to phase out. They want "creatures" to be the main focus...so print lands that benefit them, or promote playing creatures early and often by giving you acces to turn one mana.
