yah, shame on me for actually enjoying my drafts. I refuse to draft 10th, I dont want M10 to be the same ole crap. Vanilla creatures are boring.

QFT. I understand the 2/1 lion, and the 2/3 elf, and the 5/3 thoctar, but a 1/4 turtle for 2U, and a 3/2 flying for 3U plus all the rest are just too many(IMO) for a set.

One of my fondest memories was beating down with Horned Turtles and Wind Drakes in my first magic deck, the Tempest Deep Freeze pre-con. I think vanilla creatures are just fine, especially in a starter set. __________________ Stages of Death: Anger, Denial, Barganing, Depression, Acceptance, Burial, Decay, Haunting, Revenge, Evil LaughOriginally posted by pyr0ma5ta: When in doubt, always go with the mom joke. Ding! Ding ding!Elvish Archdruid 1GG Creature — Elf Druid (Rare) Other Elf creatures you control get +1/+1. T: Add G to your mana pool for each Elf you control. 2/2 As a fan of Priest of Titania, I love this card.

As a casual player I'm indifferent, I think. I want the Priest cause she's a 2 drop, and since my casual group tends to play green at least in part Champion's forestwalk is stronger at the 3 slot. I'm sure, if these are priced reasonably, I'll find a slot for these somewhere... Things I'm happiest about are seeing Birds of Paradise (hopefully their value will spike?) and Sage Owl (always a fan of the little 1/1 divining top).

Damn you Wizards of the cost for making me want to play magic again! Me and my other friend who use to play magic together and quit are definately going to the prerelease. I doubt I will start to play as serious, but I could definately play some FNMS and a few big tournys.I personally like the new "dual" lands. I think they are spot on with power level.

The only problem with Birds is that they're currently in 10th so aside from the random Bant decks they don't see much play and that won't change until Zendikar. Its not like people didn't have access to them now for their decks. And even then, there have been sooooo many chances to get them I'm sure the value has just plateaued for a while.

Oh come on you lazy designers. Half of the new cards are either complete reprints with a new name or an extremely minor change from an existing card. Some of the other half are pretty similar, but that's a bit normal. They really don't care how many cards they doom, do they?

My only complaint has to be some of the names on the new functional reprints. They just seem really cheesy, and a lot more bland. They seem really yu gi oh to me. I hate to say it, but I'm not big on em.On the other hand, the set looks awesome, and I just read this new lord of the pitish card... I'm really excited for it. Goes perfectly into my Kresh EDH deck. I can blow everybody out with a huge Kresh or just smash face for 7 flying trample. Awesome card. Definitely a cool mythic, since it actually feels mythic.

100% with you . Why not bring back remove soul? They did just with a different name. Whats the point ? Its a reprint with a different name. Meh what ever the set looks good and all the good ones I have seen are reprints. So I wont have to buy any new product maybe just some play sets. __________________ Why am I seething with this animosity?Sign Up for MMORPG Football My Brute-Plum Smuggler AnimosityMOTL@aol.com

If you're playing Elves, three-drops might as well be two-drops.

Not sure why everyone is so excited. I'm rather disappointed. We're supposed to be getting a bunch of new cards and all we're actually getting are reprints with the names changed. Nope, we've stopped printing remove soul and terror, but we made these brand new cards called essence scatter and doom blade that you should buy M10 to get.

They renamed it Essence Scatter. Sounds like a finishing move in a dork porno. __________________ Why am I seething with this animosity?Sign Up for MMORPG Football My Brute-Plum Smuggler AnimosityMOTL@aol.com

I couldn't agree more, and I'm particularly mad about the terror change. That has been one of the most iconic cards in my playing career. Everybody knows what terror does! Why in the Hades would they go and change the name? If one of Wizard's goals is to simplify things a bit, changing the names of well-known cards is not an especially good way to do that. Bad choices make me sad.

It kills artifact creatures, and is therefore not terror exactly.

Yeah, so it is Dark Banishing, but better. I like it.

LOLcats that they renamed Spirit Link to LifeLinkI really like the disenchant with the 4 point lifeswing. Bringing back the Artifact Tutor right after Shards Block is asking for trouble. Doomblade just make Terror/Dark Banishing Obsolete in any older formats. I like that they didn't reprint hurricane, but instead replaced with an instant that only does damage to flying creatures. I'm really surprised howling mine is back. Its looking like i won't have to buy much stuff from this set other then new lands afterall. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 9000+ posts 4th in posts in Ontario 22nd in posts on MOTL 8th in Refs in Ontario

Elvish Archdruid is the best new card in the set. Archdruid paired with Imperious Perfect is just wrong. Toss is a couple Protean Hydras, and smash face.Protean Hydra XG Creature-Hydra Protean Hydra enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it. If damage would be dealt to Protean Hydra, prevent that damage and remove that many +1/+1 counters from it. Whenever a +1/+1 counter is removed from Protean Hydra, put two +1/+1 counters on it at the beginning of the end step. 0/0
